Taken at the Missouri Botanical Garden on Monday. Barringtonia racemosa (powder-puff tree), is found in coastal swamp forests and on the edges of estuaries in the Indian Ocean, starting at the east coast of Mozambique and KwaZulu-Natal (South Africa) to Madagascar, India, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Maldives, Thailand, Laos, southern China, northern Australia, coastal Taiwan, the Ryukyu Islands and many Polynesian islands.

Oh, so beautiful, Laura. It also reminds me of a mimosa tree with pink powder puffs. My grandmother had one in her yard, and it was my favorite tree. Little did I know she hated the tree with its heavy debris of stickers and spent blooms descending on her lawn! ;D
