In Today's Daily Jigsaw Puzzle, we visit the beautiful landscape park Sofiyvsky Park in Uman, Ukraine.
Sofiyivsky Park in Ukraine is severed by the river Kamianka and was founded in 1796 by the magnate Count Stanislav Pototskiy. The park is named after his Greek wife, Sofiya Vitt-Pototskaya, as a tribute to her on her name day on May 1802.
The park covers over 150 beautiful hectares, and it can take hours to stroll through its winding pathways and explore its numerous ancient sculptures and fountains, and visit its many pavilions, gazebos, and stone (granite) garden.
Sofiyivka Park is also famous for illustrating different parts of Homer's poems "The Iliad" and "Odyssey." The concepts of the poems are materialized in concrete objects and architectural compositions, and all this is so well thought out and connected that it creates a spectacular symphony.
As you can imagine, the park hosts a variety of special events throughout the year. One of the most popular events is the annual flower festival, which typically takes place in late spring or early summer. During this festival, the park's gardens are adorned with an array of colorful flowers, creating a stunning backdrop for various cultural and artistic performances.
