I totally agree with the 1st 1/2 of that sentiment, mp but not entirely the 2nd, unless you count "learning what rubbish some the talkers say". Interesting that the DL specifically said "talking" because - if you ask a question, surely that's not repeating what you already know, except perhaps knowing how to ask a question? Such a 'chicken and egg' situation. Thanks for the thought-provoking puzzle, liz_F

If you listen you learn, if you talk you teach. Do both and you are rich :)

A lot of times there is not much to listen to. So to dig thru to the worthy stuff you wind up with a lot of chaff.

But if people talked AND listened equally then all might benefit, as opposed to those who ONLY talk and never listen.
