Why are you reporting this puzzle?

A couple of weeks ago I posted a picture of an adult feeding a "teenager" at my suet feeder:

https://www.jigidi.com/puzzle.php?id=mg816p7l

I commented at the time on the odd progression of the red on the young male Hairy and Downy Woodpeckers - how it starts at the front, then extends to the back, but by the time they're adults the top stripe is black, and there's only a red spot where the head stripe and eye stripe cross in back.

Well, the youngsters have learned to feed themselves, and here you see the progression of red toward the back.

You are so lucky to have so many families!

The Hairy Woodpeckers and White-Breasted Nuthatches were the first families. Next were the Downies and Red-Breasted Nuthatch families. Now they seem to have largely settled into feedint themselves, but I still have a Blue Jay family of 5 with raucous full-grown youngsters clamoring to be fed - even though some seem to have mastered feeding themselves at the suet feeder, albeit somewhat hesitantly.

What a clever youngster. I wonder if the adult finally said, "Enough. I showed you how to do it, so if you want any suet you can stick your own beak in and get it!" :-)
