We were fortunate enough to get a lovely letter from Alex earlier this year.
A gracious charming and humorous man who will be sorely missed here in Canada and the US. RIP Alex.

Agreed @bbandit! My husband and I were just saying the same thing last night. He started hosting Jeopardy on September 10, 1984, which was 3 months after we started dating. He has been part of our evening television viewing for the past 36 years, and become part of our family memories too. He was there before our 4 children were born and after they left home. It sure is going to be different. He is irreplaceable.

I will miss him a great deal. He was always a gentleman and was so sophisticated
