I love the contrast of the deep purple bud against the light green foliage.

Yes, nillie, it definitely does. I was thinking of covering the wheelbarrow with bubble wrap, but if there should be so much snow like they say it will, it will do more harm than good when the plastic get's snowed under! So I'll grin and bear and see what happens! We did take measures and wrapped and covered the outdoor water tap and pipe even better than I already had done....when I wrapped the tap a couple of weeks ago, I wasn't aware that it would get this cold, so better safe than sorry!

Not sure, Anne. She can stand cold that's obvious after one night of -5°C the other day, but will she survive the cold east wind with a feel of -20°C ?? I wonder, but I really hope so too! ♥
