@patsquire - me too on the 'a' vs 'the.' Once I got the frist part, I didn't worry about the second part.

I looked it up and 'the' is in "Treasure Island."

Well, I am trusing Wiki for the info.

Got the other one also.

patsquire

I've always used "a" instead of "the" so it gave me some trouble. ☺

jbprols

Yes, if I hadn't given a hint would you have figured it out?
@patsquire

Conflicting histories…….allegedly there was a baked meringue dessert (not named a pavlova) that came from a publication in England before it showed up in New Zealand. Wherever it actually began, it wasn’t named after her until later. Now there are all kinds of ways to pipe the meringue, but the idea is a perfect meringue base with fresh fruit on top. Takes a bit of skill………

jbprols

Pavlova is a meringue-based dessert. Originating in either Australia or New Zealand in the early 20th century, it was named after the Russian ballerina Anna Pavlova. Taking the form of a cake-like circular block of baked meringue, pavlova has a crisp crust and soft, light inside. Wikipedia

And I have read sometime in the past that the dessert was named after her.

jbprols

Way to go, Jean! I'm proud of you! ☺🌟
@joy2u

jbprols

Maybe the dessert was named after her?
@mifune17

And a ‘pavlova’ is a rather famous dessert……makes you wonder how the two realistically go together.

mifune17

I’ll take the BOR……..
