By 9PM, it was too dark outside to take a photo, so I had to pluck the flower which had started to close for the night and photograph it inside. I have had many of the plants over the years, but they freeze easily. I did not know of any in my area anymore. But while horseback riding in NORTH Florida, I was totally surprised to find a nice plant in a yard. The lady gave me permission to take several cuttings and I did. I have 3 of the growing and blooming now. I returned there about a year later and hers had frozen that winter. The ones I have only turn this dark, not the really red that others have in the past, and it only lasts one day. It is a single, though I have had doubles over the years.
