Ali Qapu Palace - Isfahan, Iran
The geometry is entirely resting on a 6-pointed star - two triangles, one is rotated.

From that one simple form, all the rest is derived. In your mind, add another triangle, rotate, and another. You are going to see 6, or 9, points. BUT it also a curved ceiling, and inverted bowl, so as the artists moved down the sides, mathematical allowances will have to be made, to accommodate the curvature.

Even if you part of your brain seems not understand the underlying math, another part does. . . and it has thereby a calming affect.

It explains why, when I want to be calmed, I will find the puzzles created by @karax.

Lovely... and thanks, my friend.

I think most people do not understand the importance math plays in our lives, not just in numbers but what is created and represented in those numbers. The doorway to the universe I'm sure is somehow represented in math as all things are. A perfect example here Audrey, thanks for sharing with us.
