I like your CABEESE - a lot. (perfect word - just one caboose makes me smile but two, as Cabeese, is definitely worth a happy laugh - thanks for it all)
Well, what is the plural of moose? Meese? I don't THINK so!! LMBO!! And I prefer to call the new thingies FREDs. EOTs sounds short for ID-EOTs...
Jus sayin' ;oP
Thanks for the history, history buff!!
I don't know how long this one has been there, Susie. The plaque says it was renovated in 2007.
In the 1980s the caboose was no longer required by law to be on the back of a train. They were replaced by flashing rear end devices (FREDs), sometimes called EOTs, end of train devices.
What is the plural of caboose? Some say caboose, or cabooses or cabeese. I like the last one but you can see, I avoided using the plural!
What a cool lookin' lil red caboose!! It's perfect!! How long has he been retired, do you know?
I love cabooses. Sue and I had only planned to stop for lunch in Aurora then return home when she suggested I take a few pictures while she went into an antique shop. I walked all the way to the end of the main drag and back again and she was still in the shop.
I heard the sound of a train crossing nearby and walked in that direction. I was too late but in the distance I saw a beautifully kept train depot. I walked over and began taking pictures and discovered this caboose. What a find!
