Tex_puzz - I do not know the date range for #66 - I worked for JPD from 1980 to 2004 and have about five of their older badges in my collection - Percy Clifton Hines; what a coincidence - I researched his death for my department so they could add him to their memorial wall - he was married to a Boothe, my first cousin, four times removed - I authored a book (Southern Justice by Jim Jones) which is about Hines and the other officer that fell that day, George Walker Guice - I wrote it in a novel form because I did not have all of the needed information at the time - the two brothers that killed them were from TN - they were ultimately acquitted of the murders but were extradited to TN for the murder of a Charlie Parker in 1891 - other interesting note: Officer Guice was pardoned a few years before becoming a police officer - he and his brother Basil were serving a life sentence for murdering an Alexander Hawley, in broad daylight, in Natchez MS in the late 1800's
Nice collection! Do you know how far back #66 goes? My great-grandmother's brother was Cliff Hines. One of the first JPD officers lost in the line of duty in 1893.
