This week's theme is Safari/Big Game/Wild Animals. Many of you will know that I have a problem with putting images of real animals in the kaleido maker. It feels too much like blending them! Eeuuww. LOL So I made these kaleidoscopes from images of plush toys of African animals. And thought it was appropriate to present them as roaming wild!

The images I used to make these kaleidoscopes are freely available on the internet. I then use a variety of programs to make my kaleidoscopes, recolour the backgrounds and assemble them into a collage. Each collage takes around 2 hours to make.

It gives me immense pleasure making them, and I hope it gives you pleasure solving them. :-)

Thanks Sally, you're very welcome!! And you're right! It did look a bit like a snowstorm here, once I was done, LOL. If only it FELT like a snowstorm. I could do with a bit of freezing weather! I'm sick of summer. Grrrrr. :-DDD

Nice presentation of kaleidos, Your kaleidoness.... So good to know no animals were harmed in the making of this free flowing kaleido panorama... Was their much stuffing lost??? Good fun all around... Thanks, Kirsten.... :) :)

Yippee!! I'm really glad you enjoyed it too, Nicky! And even had faves. I'm feelin' like I done good. :))))

Thanks so much Rosie. I LOVE taking the weekly themes, and figuring out how I'm going to re-interpret them into kaleidos, and add my own little spin on them. I'm so glad you enjoyed my efforts. I thought the concept would be fun, but when I saw it realised, I have to confess to being pretty pleased with the results!! Is it bad to say that about your own work? Oh well, too bad if it is. It's the truth!! I'm SO glad you had fun too. We BOTH had fun. :-DDD

Thanks PJ!! I'm really thrilled that you liked this new format for a change. :)))

Thanks Hester!! I have to confess that I am puffing my chest out, just a teensy bit, with pride at my efforts. Glad you enjoyed it. :)))

Katie, it's my utter pleasure to provide you with some fun. It's one of MY favouritest things to do. :)))

It's a metaphoric blending, shazzaannie - but I still can't bring myself to do it. Pathetically sensitive, I know. LOL I'm so glad you enjoyed this format. And, jeez, if you wanted a bit of heat, you only had to say!! ;) We've got heaps of it, over here in Melbourne, Australia. More than we need really. We're in the middle of a record-breaking heatwave! So I'd be very happy to give you, oh say 15 degrees celsius. More if you want it. I wanna feel cold!!! LOL

Thanks Gail!! I'm really pleased with how it came out as well. :))) And I'm also a bit fond of that Zebra too!! LOL

Enjoyed doing this one - love all these brown and beige colours, and the patterns are gorgeous. If I had to choose favourites it might be bottom left, the one on top of it, and the one opposite!

Love your interpretation of the theme. Animals in the blender are just toooooo cruel. This concept shows us what can be done if you think about it. Great kaliedos and much fun solving. Thanks, Rosie

Kirsten - I love it, design, colors and the safari feel. Wonderful.

What a very clever interpretation, Kirsten! I love this format too! Thanks! :-))

Hi Kirsten, I love this one! The colors, designs and the wild roaming really does provide a safari image! Thank you ever so much for the fun.

Ergh don't think I could blend animals either although I do eat chicken and fish.

Love the effect of this puzzle especially the black/white.

One of my dreams is to go on safari in Africa. It's nice to be reminded of this as it's a very snowy, extremely cold and windy day here. Perfest excuse for staying in with Jigidi.

This was different and fun, Kirsten. I really like the four to the right and the cheetah at the far left. That zebra really stands out.

Thanks Mandy!! I kind of like when they overlap too, I have to say. But I like how this one came out too. I'm glad you do too. :)))

Lovely collection of the Big 5, thanks Kirsten, I like the way you've cut the images around each other so they don't overlap - thanks :~)

Nighty night, Gail. I hope tomorrow brings a better day. :)))

The things we inadvertently learn about our friends!
Night-night. I have to get up early to see if my ransomed car will be returned to me in one piece. See my email.

Yup - I be vego Gail.

Aww. You waited for me!! I'm chuffed. Thanks Edie! And I'm glad you don't wake up for me.

Sorry, I think I may have been confusing. From upper left to right, and pretending there are two rows, they are giraffe, elephant, leopard, jaguar, cheetah, giraffe, zebra and giraffe.

And I think I got a lucky with how the pieces fell on the tiny one. 'Cos I tried a couple of times too, to beat Robbos, and didn't think I could. But on my last attempt, I got it. I was gonna give up after that, and just be satisfied with 13 seconds. LOL

I didn't know you were a vegetarian. Good for you! I still enjoy meat, chicken and fish on occasion.

No need to worry. I could never bend a critter. Hey, I can't even eat them! :)))

I saw you at both Gail and Dagmar's so I stuck around waiting for you to post. I don't adjust my sleeping times Kirsten, it's my awake times that I adjust. I was sure the big one at the top was an elephant. Didn't knock you off the top and don't think I can. I tried it 3 times. You were very speedy on the one of Gail's that I solved as well.

I'm so glad to hear that. I was worried! Ethernet your way.

Hey Gail! Only plushies were kaleido'd in the making of this puzzle. I can't be blending real critters!! And I thought this format would be fun for this theme. :)))

Hi Kirsten, I see you've switched it up a bit. I love it. I hope no critters were harmed in the making of this puzzle.

I've just been visiting Dagmar and Gail too, Edie!! We all hang out in the same places. LOL It's really nice to catch you too. Although having said that, I hope you never adjust your sleeping times around me. :)))

And you got most of the animals. No lions, but two giraffes, a jaguar and a cheetah!! And I thought this format would be fun for this theme. It's the first one I've posted like this, and I'm pretty happy with how it came out.

And now I'm gonna hit post comment, so I can see whether you've knocked me off over on the tiny one!! LOL Hope you have a great day. :)))

Hi Kirsten, I just came from visiting Dagmar and Gail when I saw that you had posted. I'm so happy to catch you after almost a week. I can guess at some of the animals used here. Zebra, elephant, leopard and lion colours are all here. Like this wild format. Gonna pop over and do the teeny one and then back to bed for another hour. Thank you for these.
