Thanks for sending me the picture of the farmhouse. I love the flowered window boxes.

My jigidi friend Wendy had an issue with poisonous ivy, only from there I know in Europe it is not as far as I know. Hopefully your wound healed fast. I have a bad eczema now and will see the doctor tomorrow. I had one 3 years ago for 2 years, now it is different. It always comes when I am very angry, at the end I don't know if the eczema or the previous issue makes me more angry.

I never was harassed at Jigidi. I used to ignore harassing people, but now I often ask myself if it is better to really lay down the law from the very beginning. It happened once that I saw a puzzle of mine and also one of someone reposted by someone else, I reported it and it was deleted very quickly.

The best therapy I ever had was a Chinese Tuina massage. I can now solve my troubles with a blackroll with knobs and this works wonders for me. But in your case a therapist is more precise.

In the villages we can have strong colors, but not many. In my region there are lots of dark yellow wich is a traditional color.

Those who do critisize others for not having perfect language skills, in my opinion it is those who are unhappy with their own skills of any sort and try to find some target of projection. I am too lazy to use Google, it takes twice the time for having to review the same again.

I solved your ladder puzzle and you are correct about being fearful on a ladder. Your appearance isn’t what I call safe but necessary to get the work done. My husband won’t let me on ladders so here’s what I did and still got into trouble. We went cherry picking in his uncle’s grove. The only way you could reach them was by ladder. However, I went off by myself and climbed a tree. Sounds OK right. Not so, poison ivy was vined up the tree and I was wrapped around it. I thought poison ivy was only a bush. I know better now and I can ALWAYS identify poison ivy.

Unfortunately, I had to stop skiing when I was in my 40s due to what the doctor called a pinched nerve. I couldn't stand up without using my arms as support and would not have been able to get off the chair lift. I gained weight and went skiing once when my back didn't hurt so much but then I was skiing scared. You can't ski scared or you WILL get hurt. The doctor made me angry in hindsight because he never took an xray. Years later I noticed a deformity in my body and went to a chiropractor who did take an xray and found I had rather severe scoliosis. When it was finally diagnosed it was too late for correction since my spinal bones fused into the curve. I've had a lot of terribly painful massage but it has made me functional. I will miss my massage therapist the most because he's really not replaceable with his skill, knowledge, and caring. He'd explain what muscle he was working and why. I'd been to other therapists and not even close.

You are correct. It was Ellada. I checked and could not find where Ellada did that although the style was similar. I think what she was doing was perfectly OK. After all, how many different combinations can you always have? I like shapes, colors and patterns. If someone ever harasses you (I hope not) my advice is to ignore them and not provide discussion they can respond to.

However, a creation by hummingbird59 was copied identically as to colors, shapes, patterns etc. and that is a problem. It was obviously copied and then re-posted under their own ID. I recognized it as hummingbird’s creation the minute I saw it. This is why many artists claim copyright privileges.

The above is a link to a very purple house which we go by quite often. It catches my eye every time. It's a shame you can't have bright colors on your homes. I always enjoy looking at some of the homes where color is brazen. We chose muted colors on the outside because I wanted to blend in with nature. Wait until I post indoor pictures and then you'll really see color.

You mentioned not writing often because of English speaking individuals. Did you ever use Google Translate? I write to Kamilla in Russian all the time using this and she uses it to write in English. The translations aren’t perfect but certainly understandable. Someone posted “write in English” to her once and I felt the rudeness. I’m versed in only one language and sometimes I make grammatical mistakes. I really admire individuals who speak more than one language and wish I could. If you want to write in a different language, I don’t mind and can likewise respond. However, English speaking people can get very nasty when someone from another country will not use English. I call that the “Ugly American”. When visiting French Canada, I always had a French/English dictionary and would try my best to speak French. However, when I slaughtered their language, they spoke to me in English but were always friendly and nice. Not so to others who didn’t even try and nastily told them to speak English. French Canadians are very proud being French and there’s been friction with English-speaking Canada over the years.

OK, I talk fast, I write fast and I do both way too much. LOL Here’s some hugs for you. (((( ))))

One of my then Jigidi friends saw that I was leaning against and holding the ladder and teased me about it because it is not so high, but as you can see on the picture there is an inclination (unfortunately zzzz aka wendy13 is no more here). I made a break at Jigidi between 2012 and 2019 I have some psychological issues because of criminals. I never post a picture of myself and dare not even to say my name. But I am working to recover. You might think of ellada she had a pretty picture on her profile standing in a corn field if I remember right. She left some months ago, she was said to copy titles and type of puzzles from the most popular puzzle poster. I did not think it was that bad but when I showed it to my partner he said it was. Making that kind of puzzle takes some hours and no one wants them to be copied. Copying does not need much less time, therefore it is not clever anyway.
It sounds very dangerous about your skiing adventures, lets hope you do not go skiing any more. Are there any resorts where you live now or will you go to the Rockies? In our country skiing places are very crowded and even everyone wears helmet it is dangerous. I did some country skiing and snow shoes but this year is no snow. Here is a picture of 2011

I was pleased to see your fotos it does not look much different from kitchen or bathrooms here except that wooden furniture is very expensive here. I cannot yet immagine how the bath will be with the purple since it is not yet complete but I'm sure it will be beautiful as you did it the way you wish it. I did not write on both puzzles I do not write often especially when many native english speakers are there.

Did you have a different avatar for Advia? I remember seeing a very pretty lady standing but I can't remember who it was. This individual was being somewhat harassed by an older puzzler. You mentioned you posted a foto of yourself looking fearful but I don't think I saw it.

BTW yes, I'm much more cautious now and actually fearful which I despise. However, being afraid can be a good thing. I'm also very klutzy and skiing was never a sport I should have taken up since I broke my leg, dislocated each shoulder in different accidents, sprained or broke an ankle, and it goes on. I still miss skiing and always will. I worked very hard at becoming a good, not great, skier.

LOL your guardian angel is overstrained. Now you better be careful and don't take risks any more. It was wise to place this picture where you often see it. Before I had the house painted I was on a ladder only 2 m over ground and renovated some patches. Where the ladder was placed the ground was not completely level only a little angle but still makes me hold and feeling insecure. I posted a foto of it on Jigidi it looked really fun how fearful I looked. I do not like to take risks and nor does my partner. If I am tempted to take a risk he asks "who will applaud when it goes well" and that shows me there is no need.

Yes, I'm very lucky I recovered from the fall. The week before I had a friend pull some iron stakes from the area I fell into. I may have been impaled and that would be the end.

I almost crashed in a private plane when a guy I was dating at the time was a pilot. We were talked down like you see in movies.

I almost went over a cliff when skiing in Aspen.

I was on a thruway just pulling out to pass a truck, I saw headlights coming at me and a few seconds later a car passed me going the wrong way. If the lights had not been on I would have realized too late and not have had time to pull back in behind the truck.

I believe there is some major task I have yet to accomplish to make this world a better place - I hope I figure it out pretty soon. This is what my guardian angel looks like and my husband has the picture on the front of the refrigerator.

LOL about the dentist. I'm sure I've supported a number of college educations with all my mishaps. I'm sure you read that my nickname was crash and for good reason.

Vinyl shingles have only advantages I was told. If I had to replace mine I would have chosen vinyl also. Today you may be busy giving instructions to the workers in the kitchen and then admiring the result.

I am impatient and sometimes hectic, but I have improved but still work on it. How lucky you are you have recovered from the fall. Me too I would not have anything replaced as it is. My teeth have kept me busy since I have been a child and I wonder if the dentists bought a Porsche from my money!

crashnot

The outside is vinyl siding that looks like shingles. In fact, it's hard to tell the difference, even close up. However, we never have to paint it. The inside walls were painted by professionals and we have just started doing the inside trim ourselves. The kitchen cupboards are supposed to be installed tomorrow. Today we are painting the kitchen trim for the window over the sink. Patience is not, and never has been, one of my virtues unfortunately. I do everything way too fast and always regret it when my mouth beats out my brain which happens way more times than I like.

There are still paints which have to be sanded in order to paint over them but we'll never use them. When I was young, in order to paint, I was sanding the outside of one my previous houses prior to my current marriage and I fell off a ladder. I pretty much broke my face and have 8 good looking teeth to show for it. The dentist wanted a picture to make my teeth look like my original. I told him: "No, everyone knows I fell off a ladder and knocked my teeth out. Make them white, straight, and beautiful." I wanted to get rid of the overbite but 2 out of three isn't bad. LOL Yes, painting is hard work but my husband loves it and I try to help as much as I can.

BTW house cleaning is the biggest waste of time. You go through all that trouble and it doesn't take long before it looks exactly the way it did prior to cleaning. Then, you start all over again.

We definitely are not suffering except for being disorganized and cramped. We are very fortunate.

advia

As long as you have a warm place you won't suffer that you need some more patience to move in. The color you chose for outside will look great in nature. Are you painting yourself or hire someone? When we bought this old house 9 years ago I painted everything except outside the height of the house and the shingles were for us not possible to drag. The previous owner used a wrong paint that needed to be taken off. I was surprised how exhausting it was, my hands even hurt because I was not used to do other physical work except cleaning (not too often).

crashnot

Well we were hoping end of January but that's not going to happen. I'm not even sure about February, but at least we are getting there. The kitchen cabinets are here waiting for installation.

The outside is a very light gold yellow with a dark brown metal roof. In the US, we do not have the restrictions on the outside like you mention unless you live in what we call a "gated community". Sometimes they get in trouble just for flying a US flag as there are all kinds of restrictions.

advia

I had to read this twice Joanne, your house seems to be very colorful. I am positively surprised that you progressed so far already, but then you wrote end of January you will move in and it's not much time left. There will be a big Jigidi house warming party I guess. Our house is like the yellow bottom right, a tiny bit warmer and a little more saturated. When we bought it it was white and we would not have got permission to make a screeming color even if we wanted, because the house is between two villages in the green but between a road and railway. Colors outside and publicity panels are subject to permit as each building larger than 2 x 2 x 2 m, we even talked to the neighbour before because they would have the right to intervene. Buildings outside villages are no more possible now and limited in renovation. Those who convert a barn to a house make wooden panels 45° angle to make it seem like wood from the distance. This is exagerated but that its how it is.

crashnot

I'll try and get good color pictures to post. It's been pretty dark and dreary lately plus they'll look better when it's all trimmed. My laundry room color is kind of like the top deep pink in the middle but purpler, not as purple as the top left, and lighter. The whole rest of the first floor is light blue, probably similar to a lighter blue under the left darker purple. The upstairs bedrooms and porch are a light yellow. The upstairs bath will be similar to the pink on the left with the trim close to the cranberry color on the right. We were going to do trim around the windows and floors in stained wood. We chose cheaper wood and the stain didn't take so well so we'll be painting them a slightly darker color than the walls. Yes, off-white is still popular but I like lots of color. Now I'm sure you can clearly visualize what they look like. LOL Nah, I'll post some picture puzzles.

advia

I'm glad you like the soft colors, I use them to avoid straining my eyes, high saturated colors are not good for me to solve puzzles. I'm very curious how you paint your house and wait for the picture. You made me laugh because of this: In Switzerland I have never seen any pained color inside a house but white or infrequently wood paneling. For outside the house I like warm hues like sand - apricot not too highly saturated, but in a not densly populated area a strong hue might look great. The only useful thing I would say (if I were asked lol) is buy one can of paint only and see how it looks in the countryside.

crashnot

Thanks, Advia. I really enjoyed this. Your use of colors is amazing. Thanks for creating and sharing your artistic talents. BTW We are picking paints out for our new house. I sure wish you were here to help.
