Why are you reporting this puzzle?

This is the fourth and final puzzle I am posting today, all with photos I took at a "kitefest" that took place near our home in Southwestern Oregon. Some of the kites were quite large. The day was warm with a pretty good breeze blowing. That made the temperature very comfortable and there was enough wind to keep the kites in the air.

These are quite different from the kites I remember from my "young" days or even my son's younger days. :-) They are beautiful and it is nice that they have the wind to keep them "up." It is lots of fun when the wind works with you but very frustrating if it doesn't. :-( It looks like the folks in your pictures are having a lot of fun. Must have been fun to watch. Thank you for sharing these. The puzzle was fun trying to match the kites. :-)

Dusty, I have a vague memory of trying to make a kite out of newspaper. For some reason, I can not remember flying it, Terry

Hi, Terry! We used to spend an evening in the Spring making kites....big family, lots of kids, so our Mom would help us build just regular ol' kites. Oh the fun we had flying them the next day! (Or the next windy day.)

tlmk, As a kid, I don't even think could have even dreamed of kites the size and shapes we see now. Terry

Isaly, I remember having a couple of box kites as a kid. I never could figure out how they could fly. Terry

Exactly tlmk1024. That is what my Dad used to make my box kites. Small wonder they would even fly but they were amazing!

Boy the kites have sure changed since I was younger. We had paper kites with thin wood sticks and were lucky we could get them to fly

Isaly

Love your kite photos. They bring back wonderful memories of when I was a young girl and my Dad would make me box kites. We spent many hours flying the kites at the shore. Thanks for the memories.
