Who would pick a name that had already bit the dust you ask?Regal was a brand and later a model.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Regal_(automobile)Here's a pic of the Regal that Jane Withers ("Josephine the Plumber" from those Comet ads) once owned.https://bortzautocollection.com/1913Regal/1913Regal.htmlAnd of course Buick Regal.
Ha ha, that's funny,,, this one was first,,, AMC Pacer was later..... who would pick a name to use that had already bit the dust? ha ha that is funny. Pat.
When I came across this pic from Hemmings, I had to have it. The composition is balanced. The car is great, though I have to admit I have a hard time seeing then name "Pacer" on it. I have too many flashbacks of the AMC monstrosity.
I like the headlights in the fender and not in the grill. When they moved the headlights to the grill in '59, I lost interest. Pat.

Thanks Bob, I'm one of those three also Rick. I love the '58 Edsel. not so much the '59 or '60. The '58 Citation sedans were all hardtops with 410 cid 345 hp engines. My favorite. thanks to glensue for the info. I see in the picture, it was caught in action, moving down the road smeared the hubcap. ha ha. I read Hemmings cover to cover every month, and get Hemmings daily news on the compute too. Pat.
Nice. I'm one of the three people who like the '58 Edsel.
