Then there's the true story of the young man who had two big, happy dogs who loved to ride in the back of his pickup truck. He drove into town one day and parked among some other cars, told the dogs to STAY and went into a store. When he came back out there were the dogs, happy to see him, in the back of the wrong pickup truck!
Good thing you noticed, Pat. I never did that, but I did get in what I thougt was our van, once, and the driver asked me who I was. I just said "oops" got out and slunk away.
I actually had that happen in the 1980s. I was driving a totally generic tan Oldsmobile company car and was parked at a strip mall. I did not know that a van had pulled in and parked next to me. I returned to the car and put the key into the lock to open the door. It went in a little funny, with some slight resistance. As I wondered why, I got in and started the car and again it seemed a little different. Then I looked at the stuff on the passenger's seat and it wasn't mine! It turned out my car was on the other side of the van, completely blocked from view. Same make, model, year, color AND KEY! I never saw the owner of the wrong Oldsmobile.
