And the answer is................The Nutcracker

The Nutcracker is a two-act ballet, originally choreographed by Marius Petipa and Lev Ivanov with a score by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky. The libretto is adapted from E. T. A. Hoffmann's story "The Nutcracker and the Mouse King".
Although the original production was not a success, the 20-minute suite that Tchaikovsky extracted from the ballet was. However, the complete Nutcracker has enjoyed enormous popularity since the late 1960s and is now performed by countless ballet companies, primarily during the Christmas season, especially in North America. Major American ballet companies generate around 40% of their annual ticket revenues from performances of The Nutcracker. The ballet's score has been used in several film adaptations of Hoffmann's story.
Tchaikovsky's score has become one of his most famous compositions. Among other things, the score is noted for its use of the celesta, an instrument that the composer had already employed in his much lesser known symphonic ballad The Voyevoda.

Great idea Tweety Pie (❀ᴗ❀)

Max_Tooney

Maybe they could form a conga line? (A tutu twain, perhaps?)

jals

I got to see a ballet once when we first got married. Hubby was the Farm Director of a local radio station at the time and he got free tickets to go. I don't think he appreciated it as much as I did, but he took me and I had a wonderful time watching them dance. Would love to go again.

ha ha Max. You're a well rounded individual. Maybe you could dance with these "fellas" above?

I know football (rugby) players take dance to help them condition, but I have a hard time believing they shove their feet into ballet shoes or manage to stand on their toes in them.

Oh and PW, I loved the puns. I am proof of the computer broke (internet down) house clean joke.

manicpuzzler

LOL :))

I have never watched a ballet.

Bubble

They gotta use up their daily 10,000 calorie input somehow !!

I know this one Bonnie - we love classical and modern ballet (❀ᴗ❀)

manicpuzzler

Jolly good show Ardy :))

I had a throat culture several times in my life but doubt if I have any other culture.

But I knew this one.

I hate jokes about a prom. The punch line is always too long.

A clean house is the sign of a broken computer.

What's the most dangerous part of a motorcycle? The nut that connects the seat to the handlebar.

manicpuzzler

I, when I have dinner parties, have eine kleine nachtmusik by Mozart playing in the background.

Max_Tooney

(Not exactly against my will)

Max_Tooney

Not exactly...

manicpuzzler

I would think so Judy. Having said that, Rugby players do help strength and posture training with ballet teachers.

I am not a fan of classical music, but he is lighter than a lot of other composers that, to my ears, compose dirges.

jals

Cultured against your will, Max?

Max_Tooney

Pains me to say, but I got it. (One of my favorite composers, btw)

jals

Ha, Swine Lake. That's an oinker!
I think I know this one. It does seem the above image was computer generated.

manicpuzzler

What is a pigs favourite ballet?

Swine Lake!
