Thought there was only one city, the 'Mistake on the Lake' :-)
Not necessary Ohio is a big state
As from now I'll change the title when the answer is found :-)
They have to be your neighbours, Pkin :-)
Oh dear god Sir Wizard Starlord... Sorry I never heard of them...
Actually Cevas, I feel exactly the same. I thought: Ohio Express can make a nice and rather puzzle. I knew their both hits ofcourse, so I went to look for a pic. When found, I thought 'Oh, that's Ohio Express then' :-) I wouldn't have recognized them either. Shame on me...That's a lesson for life, Shazzaannie: no more lunchbreaks ;-) Let's say I was in a generous mood. It's better that someone finds it, even with clues than me giving out the answer myself.
Typical I left my computer for a lunchbreak. The last clue was a giveaway, very generous of you Starlord.
Yes, I remember their music ... but I didn't recognize their picture. Thank you Starlord. I guess back then we were just listening to the songs on the radio. There were rarely images to go with the song.
Today's band was 'OHIO EXPRESS' :-) Congratulations Jim. I just checked and you weren't on the board yet. As from now, you are. They didn't do the hard roch, Squishy... they were smoother :-)And Pkin, since they're from Ohio, I thought you would certainly know them. Two hits they had over here. Yummy Yummy (like Squishy mentioned) and the other one was Chewy Chewy. These are the songs...Let's begin with Chewy chewyhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y9qb6Qtk7KgAnd then Yummy yummy :-)http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h6Zs8qbExfs
Sir Wizard Starlord I am compeletly stumped...
Hi everyone - just got back from a mercy visit to a friend who's had an accident and can't drive at the moment - shopping done!Is this Ohio Express - I remember they did one song Yummy Yummy something or other a bit poppy for me -I prefer the rock!
Sorry, Shazzaannie... Time for another hint? Two words. Initials O and ENow that's a giveaway, isn't it?
Grand Funk Railroad !?
I'm afraid the hint didn't do, Aggie... It's not the Union Pacific Band :-(
You're bound to know them, Pkin :-)They got the name of a train that probably runs (ran) through your backyard :-)But I did give them three stars in difficulty...:-)
Now Sir Wizard Starlord just why would you say that ... like I always said in the sixties I was busy...
@ Laura: It's an American band, and they had two big hits in Europe in the roaring sixties. How I find them? I think of songs of my youth and then I look for a picture :-)@ Margh: you think right, but your answer is wrong. So if you think you are wrong, you are right :-) ewww difficult sentence :-)@ Shazzaannie: Not the Yardbirds, but it's a good guess.I'm pretty sure Pkin will know this band though, as I posted it especially for her :-))))Consider that to be a hint. :-)
Is it The Yardbirds
I would have said the 'Beatles' but I think I'm wrong
Where do you find all this information, starlord? I don't think I'd know this group even if you gave me the name of a song they sang. I'm in the USA. I'm guessing they're not from here. But then I had a sheltered childhood and they could have lived next door to us. lol
