Why are you reporting this puzzle?

This innocuous little rivulet is the main water source for the Big & Little Salt Marshes that form the backbone of the Quivira National Wildlife Refuge. I saw this creek in flood on one occasion where the stream was between a quarter to a half mile wide. ONCE. I also caught a 5 pound channel cat on a set line from the stream near the cluster of buildings in the background of this picture. (I found it hard to believe too)

Janet: It had rained in the immediate area but most of the water came from upstream about 30 miles where they had a real toad strangler. (heavy rain)

PLG: The "buildings" were mostly large oil tanks and a pumping station for an oil company.

Wendy: A channel cat is a catfish that is common in prairie streams. They are considered good eating but I prefer the taste of ocean fish .

That is a great picture and a really nice story. I don't know what a channel cat is? Wendy

At first I thought it might be a train in the background. :) Interesting info! Thanks, Rettch!

A beautiful scene thanks Cats, Aussie rivers are like that, tiny normally, then huge in floods. Hugs my friend.
