Sorry to learn about the cancer, but glad it was caught and is getting the attention it needs so he should soon be fine. Looking forward to seeing new pics of your cats. ~Patsy

Looks like the black stuff on his ear is a cancer - caused by his pale ears getting too much sun. We have tried putting sunscreen on them - but he absolutely will not co-operate. He will be losing the top f one ear in about a fortnight. Should be fine after that. We really must take some more pictures to have something new to show you!

Good to know Cagney is doing well. Hoping to see both Cagney and Charley again soon.

Cagney is still going strong. He must be about twelve by now. Still finding outrageous places to sleep. I often wake up with him on my hip. He's pretty heavy! He goes to the vet's this afternoon for his annual booster shot - but he has something nasty on his ear that she will be looking at as well. He is a cancer risk because of the pale ears - but has never let us put on sunscreen.

or.........is he toasting his "buns" ha ha ha
Jerri

He knows how to keep warm...:-)))
Jerri

He is very cute. And, as he gets older, he is becoming more and more affectionate and we swear his purr is getting louder! Thanks for your lovely words, Patsy!

But he looks so cute here! Thanks for the stories and the puzzles. -Patsy

Fighting at the shelter was how he got called Cagney there. He didn't when we had him first - we had some very dominant female cats next door. But when we moved here, where there are a lot of ex toms - he went to town. Mike once saw him with a row of about four cats all screaming war cries! We did take on a third cat (when Mishy was still with us) just coming up on three years ago. Charlie was about to be homeless. We had to keep her in a big dog cage most of the time for many weeks until they stopped trying to murder each other. Settled down OK now - just the occasional bit of bad language. New puzzled of Cgney - and one of Charlie - posted yesterday with you in mind!

Glad to hear that Cagney is alive, well, and making you smile. I didn't realize he was still a fighter after he joined your household. It's good that he has calmed down. But he might not welcome a new cat to the family, at least not yet. I'm looking forward to seeing him again.

Cageny is very much alive, well and making us smile. He's about 11 now and has now slowed down quite a lot. Not fighting hardly at all these days - which is a relief. We don't use that toaster anymore! I wll try t post another jig of him! Glad you enjoyed seeing him!

This puzzle is a couple of years old. Any update of this cute cat? Hoping to see Cagney again. I'm betting I'll smile, even if he's in a safer location.

bob, yes, and he was a great dancer, singer and actor...Sherry :)))

Loved that show! But our Cagney wasn't named for Cagney & Lacey. When he went into the rescue centre, he was fighting other cats - so it's an older Cagney - Jimmy Cagney the '40's tough guy actor!

If you're talking about Tyne Daly, she's been on Broadway lately...Sherry :)))

that's a very interesting picture. it reminds me of the t.v show cagney & lacey. so where's lacey now? :) certain seems it could be helpful about now. :)

This is an old photo. After this escapade, the toaster went to live in the cupboard! We have had no success keeping cats off - well anything really...

bigoldbadger, I spent more than a modicum of my days trying to get Rocky off the counters and kitchen table...never left any food on it, he was reacting to smells of hours before, I sprayed, I yelled, I chased spraying all the way...all to no avail...he was so stubborn...so I truly understand. And I miss him and his sister so much...all I'm asking is unplug the toaster now every time you use it so you don't end up with crispy kitty... Sherry :)))

Penophil all I was doing was trying to give people a smile. This is not recommended behaviour in our house either - but we did get a laugh out of it.

An animal on the toaster??????? gross. My animals, when I had them...were never allowed near our foodstuff or eating equipment. Think of where they have been and what their unwashed paws have touched!!!!!!!!!

It was - but he didn't work out how to turn it on. Unplugged it after - in case he ever did it again. He has always chosen weird places to sleep!!

Just me being a mom, but I hope it's not plugged in...Sherry :)))
