“’Galaxia’ was The Temple at this year’s Burning Man Festival in the Black Rock Desert of Nevada. Designed by French architect Arthur Mamou-Mani, it is shaped of 20 timber trusses converging as a spiral towards one point in the sky. According to the artist, the design ‘celebrates hope in the unknown, stars, planets, black holes, the movement uniting us in swirling galaxies of dreams.’”

1.618 "The Golden ratio is a special number found by dividing a line into two parts so that the longer part divided by the smaller part is also equal to the whole length divided by the longer part."

Fibonacci numbers are integers 0, 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34 where each number is the sum of the proceeding two numbers (try it :-)
Arthur Mamou-Mani had a computerate human to help design this temple, so we will probably not get an algorithm to answer @patw
Besides it is all smoke now :-D


It looks to me like a Fibonacci sequence, but I'm fairly ignorant about such things. Alex @iceng would surely know.
