Must have been a wealthy person or town to erect that large church. Glad it got you researching it. :))))

I do too Cakes!
What really amazes me is the size of the church (and it really is a big church) for the handful of people living there at that time!!!
You made me interested enough that I want to know more now about that period:)))

Hi schutkleur ~ Glad you like it. I wasn't looking for it but instead I was looking for antiques and this showed up!!! I guess it was in the right category!!! I really love this watercolor picture. :)))))

Thanks Cakes!!!! Amazing that Ridderkerk once looked like this. We now have some 50.000 inhabitants. But the (same??) church is still there ànd the street around it (Kerksingel), though there are more houses on it now. I posted puzzles of the Singelkerk and the Kerksingel. The earliest settlement called Ridderkerk dates from 1332 but people have been living here since Roman times.
Thanks again Cakes! I love this!

Hi Mary ~ Glad you liked the puzzle. Europe still amazes me with the age of their towns, houses & buildings. We, USA, are so very young.

Nova

Over 500 years ago....amazing!! Thanks, Joyce.
