Good news, Tisketsmum!!!

I like the shoes better too Impie, although they are more red than pink, but being suede gives them a softer look in the light. Just as well as these were the only shoes I can get on at present, and I'm told the swelling could take 6 to 12 months to go down completely. Never mind, so long as it improves I can't complain about how slowly.

Jaaay...tisketsmum....celebration time!!!! So glad it did all work out. Just take it easy, don't overdo it and you'll be right as rain in no time!♥

P.S. I like your pink shoes much better than the blue boot...:-)))

Wonderful news tisketsmum! The progress they are making to help us older persons feel better. I know my husband loves his new ankle. I am so glad you are feeling better. I love your rose colored shoes.

Yes, I spiral fractured it when I fell over two boxes of books several years ago. The pain was something else - worse than childbirth! I was also awake for the op as I couldn't have general anaesthetic due to my medical condition. I could feel & hear them drilling & sawing & hammering away, but didn't feel any pain at all. They asked if I wanted to watch it on screen - I would have like to have done but I'm diabetic & hadn't been allowed to eat so was very shaky & didn't want to temp fate even more! It's amazing what they can do. I can sometimes hear & feel it creaking when I walk downstairs & I have to try not to think of it because otherwise it gives me the willies to think it's in there! You will be fine, though, & you will get your mobility back, it just takes a little time. x

Oh, good show! Congratulations and I'm sure your caretakers are thrilled also. Now you can give Tisket all those wonderful T.R.E.A.T.S. she keeps talking about.

niccolino your ankle sounds horrendous but it's amazing what the medics can do these days isn't it? Going on tiptoes is one of the exercises I've been told to do which is a bit scary with the joint fused in my 2nd toe. Also have to curl my toes up as far as I can. It's all to stretch the ligaments that will have stiffened up from 6 weeks immobility. Mustn't overdo it but eager to be independently mobile again.

That's great, Tisket's mum. Please don't worry - I had to learn to walk again when I had to have a rod & 6 screws put in my ankle & it does all come together again - gently but persistently does it! The thing I found most difficult was going up on tiptoes but only on the one bad foot - hard but it does do a great strengthening job. Those walking shoes look just the thing btw!

And now I have Adam Ant singing that song in my head! LOL :-D
