This last bridge is Owachomo Natural Bridge. It has a really large opening and only a small piece above holding it together.

Owachomo is the smallest and thinnest of the three natural bridges here and is commonly thought to be the oldest. We may never know for certain, because each of the bridges is eroding at different rates. Regardless of its relative age, Owachomo Bridge is an awe-inspiring feat of erosion.

History
Owachomo means "rock mound" in Hopi and is named after the rock formation on top of the east end of the bridge.

Height: 106 feet (32 meters)
Span: 180 feet (55 meters)
Width: 27 feet (8 meters)
Thickness: 9 feet (3 meters)

Yes Marina that is not a lot of rock holding it all together. Thanks and hugs. ♥

This thin strip of rocks forms an amazing bridge. It is a wonder.

I like your saying Daasha, thanks and hugs to you. ♥♥♥

Suzy, this one seemed very frail to us. I guess one day it may be a "broken" bridge. Thanks and hugs to you.

Thanks Wendy, yes we went to Arches too, that will be coming in in the future. Your trip sounds like a lot of fun. Hugs, Janet.

Nature is a powerful witch, it is said with us. It's a beautiful shot Janet. Thanks and hugs. ♥♥♥

pumpkinhead

An incredible formation. 3 meters does not seem very thick when it comes to supporting the weight it's holding up.
Thank you, Janet!
Hugs!

My late hubby and I loved going to Utah. The scenery in that state is fascinating. We towed the Jeep one year and went 4x4'ing in The Arches. What a trip that was!!! We usually stayed in Moab...........Wendy

Yes I know that many places in NSW need rain very badly too. Yes I must admit that I agree that some silly young Aussies would probably try to walk across this bridge. I really don't know about young American, to be honest, hopefully not. I know that young Mormon men are very well behaved, not sure about the rest in Utah! Hugs ♥♥♥

You lucky things, that is nearly 5 inches of rain! How we would love that. SO good for Marge's garden too. Did I tell you that we are now drought declared?
Yes this was a fabulous bridge thanks Nev, no one is allowed to walk on top of it. I guess it is considered too fragile. Thanks and hugs my friend. ♥♥♥

Shirley I don't think there was a landslip there, but of course they do happen. Thanks and hugs.

Thanks Jill, it was a long way to the bottom with stone steps, wooden steps and wooden ladders! I would not be doing that. Hugs to you. ♥
