She looks as though she wants to hit someone with it. I believe it is a lamp of some type. I noticed some of the ladies in this era taking a stick at their sides. But this really looks like a red brush on the bottom side....and the top has a red thingie. See you tomorrow and have a good rest. I am going in to read now. ♥
