This morning hubby took both of them to the vet!!!! Yep!!!! They got their first shots and dewormed. The vet was terrific!!! Bless his heart, he gave their check up and shots at the "litter rate". He only charged $20 each for the two puppies. I think it could have cost as much as $50 each.

He said that they were healthy and about seven weeks old. They are part lab but their body frame is small so they will not get as large as a pure lab. We don't know what they are mixed with.

Blondie here is very out going. She knows what she wants and does not give up easily!!! After playtime this afternoon.....oh btw....they can run faster than me was time for din din. Well, the can opener was no where to be found!!! Notta!!!! Hubby ended up having to go over to the neighbors and get them to open the can LOL Anyway, brother waited patiently but Miss Blondie here let it be know that she was starving!!!! Personality abounds from each of these babies!!! Somebody threw out some adorable sweets!!!!!!

May each and every person who has been following this story find a blessing, and a ray of sunshine, and a bit of wisdom that has been shared by fellow Jigidiers in their comments they have left.

In case the comment below is missed somehow on the other puzzles.....please allow me to post it on each of the adventures of Callie Lou and her brother............

I am THANKFUL for soooooooooooo many things!!!!!!!! I stumbled into Jigidi not so long ago. Not only has Callie Lou found a community filled with support, well wishes, wisdom, sharing, caring, tips and warmth, it has become so evident to me too :-)))))))))) I am so thankful for Jigidi and all of its wonderful people. What a great way for everyone to start off the new year. I am thrilled to have been part of Calli Lou's and her brothers life and the oppertunity to share it with the world. For such tiny pups, they have indeed traveled all around the world. The love that wasn't there from their beginning has now been multiplied beyond count and we all embrace their future with high hopes. I am so greatful for Libby welcoming Callie into her home and heart!!!!! My husband stands tall in my eyes for all that he has done for these little guys. His very first emergency trip to the vets office to find something to combat the fleas, another trip that night for oatmeal shampoo aftr learning fleas might could jump 6 feet LOL LOL LOL, the early morning visit to the vet to get their first shots and deworming, the trips to fetch food and toys LOL, his tender heart, and his patience with me through all this, makes him one special guy in my book!!!! He has always been good to me. God blessed me with my husband and our son and He has always had His hand in my life!!!!! I learned a good while back that when we ask of Him things and it seems that He doesn't answer, that we are often asking for the wrong things. I am sure many of you have seen this in your lives too? Sometimes we just need to change what we are asking for and then do some searching for what He has already provided for us. He has promised to supply us with every need. We just have to do our part and search out those supplies that He already has in place.

I am delighted that the story of these two little pups have touched so many lives. I am thankful for each of you that have shared in their journey and best of all, we all have something good to look forward to because of Libby. Who could ask for more? LOL

So here is to ALL of Jigidi and to the future!!!!!!! :-)))))))))))))))))))) Hugs and appreciation all around with more to come :-)))))))))))))

Please let me post this on the puzzles and then I will be back with replies to the comments :-)

Let me give all of you and update for today. When the trucker guy was a no show, and then our decision not to let the other lady have her because they had numerous other dogs that were kept in pens, it was back to us keeping her. But since she is part Lab, I fear that the alligators in the pond would eat her if she went for a swim, coupled with us living next to the highway that my husband found the puppies, we would need a fenced in back yard to keep her safe....which we don't have. It has been an emotional roller coaster ride with trying to decide whethr or not to keep her. But the latest news is that the trucker guy might end up with her after all.

Here is what happened today. It turned out that my husband was calling the wrong number yesterday when he was trying to get in touch with the guy. He finally realized his mistake and dialed the right number. The guy saw where we had tried to call him, so he called us back early this morning and hubby told him he could still have her. He came right on out. BUT....I was royally ticked at not hearing from him yesterday.....I would have expected a call saying that he was unable to come right then and would come for her today......but come to find out, he was in a section of Florida where he did not have reception. Anyway, being the grump pot that I am early in the morning, I made some hard fast rules. He could come and look at her but he could not take her home with him today. I want to test him to see if he keeps his word about getting her tomorrow. The poor little thing is still scratching like crazy, so back to the vet she went after he left. The vet took about 20 minutes with her but saw no reason to prescribe anything. He said that her skin was just dry and causing the itching. Probably the massive flea infestation didn't help either.

Anyway, Bella is still with us and we will see if she goes home with the guy tomorrow. There will still be some rules though. If he will let us take a picture of him holding her, give us his address, and promise to check in with us or let us call him, then I will feel better about letting her go. I so want to keep her, but like I said, I am afraid that something would happen to her due to the pond and road issue.

I do know one thing......this guy is going to have to prove himself worthy of her before I let him take her. If you are thinking that I can be a grump pot at times then you would be right. I fight hard when something comes down to "the principle of the thing!!!"

I did indeed loose my internet last night while trying to answer comments. Windstream got another call LOL as I was pretty ticked about the instability of my internet. Work is still going on with the lines but the tech support guy put us down to have a repairman come out today and check everything on our end. Low and behold, MY MODEM has been at fault. The repairman just left and I now have a new modem AND INTERNET!!!!!!!!! YESSS!!!!!!! Update to follow in just a bit.....I want to let everybody know why there were no updates yesterday and no new photos.

I'm back here to thank all of you for so warmly welcoming me to this great site. I've been looking all over the site to see if there is a community site I could post my thanks to and couldn't find one so I came back here. Hope you don't mind using your great photo for this purpose. Thanks again and will continue to solve and learn how to add to the site.

Now for an update of Saturday..........

Well the ad in the newspaper ran for the first time this morning and by this afternoon, my husband had to call the newspaper and tell them to no longer run the ad. The response has been good. The little black puppy went home with a very nice gentleman this afternoon. We talked with him at length before letting the puppy go with him and we both feel that the puppy is in good hands. The gentleman was well mannered and and answered any question that I asked him. His manner was calm, warm, friendly and relaxed. Someone had stolen his last dog and he and his wife now wanted another. Sounds like the wife will be mothering the little fellow very very well LOL

Hubby told me that we could keep the little blonde one. Guess whose lap she is asleep in right this very minute? Yep.....hubbies LOL We both want what is best for her. One caller this morning was a truck driver who traveled with his dog beside him. Unfortuantly, his companion had passed away and he is looking for another doggie. If we were to keep her, she would be an outside dog. After hearing that he was hunting a companion when he is on the road, I believe that she would receive more contact by being with him. I also had to factor in the fact that we have a very large pond right next to us which is infested with larger alligators. Knowing that Labs like the water, there is a high chance that she would want to go for a swim. The thought of loosing her to an alligator does not bode well with me or my husband, so we have chosen to let her go with him. This guy was not in town today and said that it would probably be tomorrow before he could get her. I haven't met this guy yet and who knows for sure if he will actually appear tomorrow. Tomorrow will tell the rest of the story. If this guy does not show up, then we will return a call from a lady that was interested in her. She called, but the choice to let the truck driver have her had already been made. So we shall see what tomorrow brings. I will definitely let everyone know what happens :-)

Why in the world the people that threw these babies out did not list them in the paper does cause a person to wonder!!!! We will probably never know the answer to this, but the puppies welfare was entrusted to us and we are indeed happy to do what we can for them. So stay posted to see what tomorrow brings for the little girl :-)

Libby, things went pretty well last night especially once I turned their light off and pullled the door to. Did not shut it, just pulled it to. This was about 3 am LOL I do indeed have an update. Give me a second and I will post it :-)

Wolflady, you are more than welcome. Most happy to share these little beauties!!!! I was just looking at some photos of the little black guy and I miss him already. Let me answer a couple more comments and I will definitely give an update!!!

Roerick, welcome to Jigidi!! You will fit right in (pun intended) LOL Thank you for such a kind comment!!!! As you can see from my reply to Jawz below, helping these little guys out only seems natural. Wouldn't want it any other way!!!

You can pick away at my brain LOL and will definitely share what little I know :-) I haven't been at this too long, but I definitely enjoy it. I am glad that you are enjoying the puzzles and we all hope to have you on your way to creating them in no time :-) I search the internet with Google looking for free online photo editing filters. One free online place is and another is I also enjoy working with Sumo Paint. They offer a free online version and you can also buy a version. I have never tried Corel Draw, but I have heard some mention it. ArcSoft is also another editing program but I had to purchase it. Most of the time I experiment LOL The problem with that is that I forget what I do to achieve a particular image. But let me know if you have any specific questions and I will try and see if I can help!!!!!

Michalle and Wilddog, we will definitely pass the well wishes along to our vet!!! His kindness is truly appreciated. I will call him personally Monday morning and pass along ALL of our thanks. :-)

Jawz, as you know I am sure, it takes all different kinds of people to make this world a better place. Nature and animals have always played a big part in my life. I know I fall short in many many areas but I also know that God has always blessed me and I am thankful for Him. My husband and I only find it natural to help out these little guys :-) Gosh, I am getting pretty deep here :-) Hope you guys can bear with me :-)

Welcome roerick3, glad you decided to join us! We're a warm, loving and supportive community of folks who love jigging...well, you know that already, and based on your comments fit in perfectly! ;-)
I am a solver, not much of a creator, but I'm sure you'll find everyone MORE than willing to freely and cheerfully share their knowledge!
Hummer, how did things go last night? Based on your comments above, sounds like Blondie is testing her limits (yours really), like most little ones...Blackie is wise to sit back and watch, and learn through Blondie's assertiveness! How I want to scoop them up, smell their puppy breath and give them razzbellies! ;-)))

Can't even imagine what would have happened to these two beauties if you hadn't been so
kind as to pick them up. I would have done the same. Keep up the good work, and keep
us all informed as to their progress. We have all fallen in love with those two pups. My dog
is a lab/border collie, and the sweetest dog ever. God Bless you both. Thanks for the pics.

I'm very new to Jigidi--just joined today but have been solving puzzles on the site for a few weeks and have fallen in love with your abilities to make puzzles that glow and come alive. And then I find out that you and hubby are also saints, rescuing two beautiful puppies from certain death. Thank you, thank, thank you for being unselfish and sooooo caring. Please keep us updated on their progress and we'll all, as a community, have to name them and find forever homes for them. I think a good name for the little girl would be Attitude--sounds like she's chock full of it. I'm also hoping to learn how you put together the kaliedscope (spelling of that word always gets me) puzzles and how you choose your colors. I need to pick peoples brains and hope they don't mind teaching and sharing. Thanks for listening.

Thank you for the update on the puppies. I'm happy that they are doing so well. I agree that your vet is a great for giving you the discount.

Man, oh man....she is adorable. Love the little water droplets on her lips... I hope that she ends up with a person who understands and knows how to handle a stronger personality (if you don't keep her, of course. LOL!) Poor little beggar doesn't need any more abuse in her life.

(Tell your vet that he's got a following now...and, I'll bet, a lot of good karma coming his way.) Michelle

Don't you just love babies of any kind!!! Especially puppies!

Maryrob, Puppy breath, puppy breath, puppy breath.......yes yes indeed LOL I haven't smelled that in years!!!! I am glad to know that I am not crazy for thinking that it is nice!!!!!! LOL

Canoekaw, they were definitely negelected in the fact that they were sooooo badly infested with the monster fleas.

Lyndee, someone mentioned yesterday that one needs to be named "Lucky" LOL

I thought when I saw them yesterday that there must be lab in them. They are just beautiful and I bet they still have puppy breath.( I love puppy breath)!!!!

Thank You Again for your kindness. Regarding size, maybe the mother was malnourished and neglected as well as these puppies making them small in size. Also, there are at least two kinds of lab-American and British. I will keep following your act of kindness, it lifts my heart.

I so don't know what I am going to do!!!! Somehow these little buggers have impacted my heart. Hubby rescued them and would fall head over heels in love with them but is trying soooooooo hard not to get attached to them!!!! How long will he hold out??????

He ran an add in the paper this morning for free will start running tomorrow.

Laurajane, huggable and loveable they are and spoiled already!!!! Haven't tagged them with any names yet. Just refer to one as blondie and the other blackie. Told hubby this afternoon after their dinner that the black one should be named Plato as he likes to stand in the plate while eating LOL

Gemstone, they definitely have personalities!!!!! And they can definitely make you smile and laugh!!!

Doglovertoo.......I know your heart longs to be filled......would love to hear about the guy you lost in June whenever you are ready to share!

I wonder if this is where the saying "Lucky Dog" comes from, as they were very lucky to have somebody find them who cares.

Love them both so much. Glad they are progressing. Keep us all informed on their progress.

What a nice vet...and a great hubby! The puppies are so cute and already developing their own personalities. Today, I can't help smiling. :)))

Makes me want to hug the little fellow!
