Why are you reporting this puzzle?

This little pear comes from a tree that is nearly 70 years old. We like to pick them green and let them ripen off the tree. That way, we can catch them at the perfect moment of ripeness. If you leave it on the tree, there's always a chance that the pear will fall off the tree - which alway bruises it.

Thanks for coming by. I wouldn't be surprised if this pear and your grandparents' tree were of the same variety. There are so many different varieties available today that were unknown outside of their native homeland. Many of them have become available within the past 30 years.

This is a Bartlett pear, but I don't know if it belongs to a subspecies.

TFS, I love this it reminds me of my grandparents old pear tree.⌨️

I can just imagine the incredible flavor this beauty will have! Absolutely my favorite pear tree in the whole world!

Here is a puzzle of a pear from your favorite pear tree!

I love pears!

Me too, dear friend! xoxoxoxoxo

thx for the invite - wish i could xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Good to see you again, dear friend brightspark! The ones we can't eat fresh get cut up and dried, or made into "pearsauce". That's our version of applesauce that's made from pears. That's pretty darn good, too! Come on over and we'll have some!

Absolutely delightful - Looks Yummy xxxxxxx thx for sharing ☺☺☺

Thanks, Isaly! These pears are indeed delicious. I think that's mostly due to the fact that they come from old trees. Today's trees are designed to fit into small spaces, or produce lots of shelf-stable fruit, but the flavor has been forgotten. I don't like store-bought Bartlett pears, but I love these!

bujal, thank you for your comment. I hope you have a good sleep tonight! I think we should let this one ripen just a bit more, but when it's ready you should come over and try it!

Looks delish Elvis!

Thanks Jon for this delicious pear. It seems to be very good, but now I go to sleep, so I leave it for tomorrow.
