I made these kaleidoscopes from freely available images of humbugs. I use a variety of programs to make my kaleidoscopes, recolour the backgrounds and assemble them into a collage. Each collage takes around 2 hours to make.

It gives me immense pleasure making them, and I hope it gives you pleasure solving them. :-)

And a message to my regular solvers - our Daylight Savings Time finishes on Saturday night here in Melbourne, Australia, so from Sunday my puzzles will be posted an hour later than they currently are. Until October, anyway! LOL

Sorry Ardy, I'm making todays puzzle too, so just popping back to Jigidi every now and then to see what's happening

I didn't know you'd already been playing with all those options. The only other thing I can suggest then, is that if you like the photostitching option, you can set it to a horizontal aspect. And I guess it's swings and roundabouts. Collage templates are fixed sizes, and line up your photo from the centre I think. The montage options lets you use different photo sizes, but doesn't give that neat finish. Although, an asymmetrical look can work sometimes too. You know that they say in design you should always use odd numbers of things. So a lack of symmetry could be a good thing. I guess it's all down to your personal taste. And I imagine that there is software out there that would give you the options you are after, like Photoshop, but you'd have to pay for it. I guess we're back to swings and roundabouts, eh? I'm glad you're playing with different things though. Keep having fun!! :)))

Wasn't sure whether to answer you at Barb's or here!! I have several times used the montage in fotor and ended up using it today. The photo stitch seems to made a vertical picture. I did crop the pictures and resized them but when I put them into picmonkey's 3x3 frame it cut the heads and/or tails off on several of the cows. That's when I went to fotor and used the montage option. I'm not real excited about the puzzle since the photos were not all exactly the same size so it doesn't line up neatly Maybe no one but my friends will even be willing to look at painted cows. LOL.

I always appreciate your suggestions and am enjoying playing with different things. One thing about fotor is that I can go from the collage to the framing without saving and opening again. Thank you so much.

Thanks Ardy! So glad you had a lip-smacking time! By the way, I left you a comment over here, that might be helpful with those tricky photo size/shapes in your collages:

Or not! LOL See you tomorrow!! ((HUGS))

I knew this morning I'd be back. Kirsten, these are so delicious. Thank you. They are almost as special as you are. Have a good day and I'll see you tonight. ((HUGS))

Thanks Gail! I've just been over at your place having fun too - although I confess in bite-size! LOL I think you might call them hard candy or boiled candy or pulled candy? I'm not sure. Maybe they are ribbon candy. Who knows? But I am glad you had fun with them! :)))

This is really special, Kirsten. What are humbugs? This looks like ribbon candy to me. I don't have a favorite today because they are all special. I really love the centers on them. Thank you for your hard work in making these.

I agree that it's a pity that more people don't explore different things, Dagmar. With my fave puzzle makers I do ALL of their puzzles regardless. I would never look at it, and think that "it's not so appealing, so I don't think I'll do it". And it means that I get to discover all sorts of interesting colours and textures! And get a fuller sense of the artistic range of the puzzle maker - which is a good thing! I'm glad you enjoyed this one. I had fun making it - and exploring a new technique for the background.

I hate losing the hour too - but for me it's more than made up for by longer daylight hours! I hate winter's short days. And leaving for work in the dark, and coming home in the dark. I would much rather have some extra daylight hours at the end of the day, and wouldn't care if it didn't get light until 10 am! So even though I get an extra hour tonight, I would give it up for more daylight at the end of my day.

And lucky you for having your dinner prepared for you! I kind of had a similar experience with breakfast just now! Duncan got up a little while ago, and pronounced he was hungry. So we had the last of the hot cross buns for breakfast - and he actually managed to "cook" them. LOL Which of course just means putting them in the oven!! LOL I hope you have a good rest of your evening, and see you tomorrow/tonight. :))))

It's a pitty that only very bright, simple and colourful puzzles get many solves. Each of these kaleidos was a real pleasure to solve all of them are special the red one with its stunning 3D effect, the black one with its white star, the orange one with its wonderful patterns and last not least the green one which resembles a wonderful tiled fountain waiting for the water to bubble inside it. :))
I just saw that you are online. You never seem to sleep LOL. I hope I'll manage to sleep at least until ten tomorrow morning. LOL We changed to daylight savings time last weekend - I hate it when they steal me whole hour of sleep and then make me get up earlier :((( - and it takes me at least two weeks to adapt to the change. Now I have to wait until October, when I - like you - will finally get my hour back LOL.
I must come to an end now my husband just called to tell me that dinner was ready and it wouldn't be nice to keep hime waiting after he prepared everything. LOL
Have a wonderful day and see you my tomorrow your tonight. :))
