Thanks for doing all that research - but it is still rather mind boggling isn't it? Is the water pumped up? Is there enough cloud moisture to water the crops, whatever the crops might be? Farming in fertile soil at lower elevations is challenging - these people must be incredibly resourceful. I am so glad you posted this pic. I love beautiful scenery but this adds a whole new dimension to it. Thanks

Mpil, as far as I can tell, most of the agriculture is subsistence farming and herding. But there are some gourmet wines, salami, sausage, and "alpine summer pasture" cheeses. This picture looks like it could be wine grapes. But then, that's pretty wide spacing for grapes. Possibly a "hay" for winter feed for goats, cattle, and horses - I'm thinking.

Mpil, that is a really good question! I don't know! I'll see if I can find out, though.

Just got here and Wow. Such stark beauty but what could grow on what seems to be rock - and at that altitude? Thanks for a puzzling puzzle.

You're on, PH. Now all we have to do is find out how to get ourselves there - presumably in the summer!!

Bocce! Of course!!! We can always find a green space for bocce!!

PH -how about a game of lawn bowling? :)

No crop growing there for me!

I know, Snooker! I guess it would just be normal life there, but it sure feels precarious to me.

Great photo. Can't imagine farming there.
