Thank you, DaisyJune. I appreciate the time and effort it took to post the updated painting. As my daughter said yesterday after a confusion of text messages, technology is meant to make life easier! Doesn't feel like it some days :-)

I have each painting open on separate pages so I can flip between them both. The first stage was fine in it's own right but the changes you have made have taken it to a new level. I admire your eye for seeing what was needed. I think it looks perfectly finished but who knows - you may see more to change!

When I am back in the US later this year I am going to change to a Mac. I may have similar speed bumps with camera software etc but technology shall not defeat us :-))

Daisyjune

Okay, foxymoron. We upgraded our Mac and as a result our camera software wasn't supported. Agghh. We finally got a memory card reader so we could use our camera, and I finally figured out how to do it all. Ah, technology!
You asked what changes I made. I added more trees to the background hills, used an ultramarine blue glaze to darken the further side of the lake and unify it with the blue of the sky. I widened the tree trunk, darkened the foreground rocks a bit and increased some of the contrast. Then I put it back over the mantel to see if I'm satisfied.
