Binkydo

I am a hydrangea person!

hippo

I agree. Poppies and daisies. Arist looks highly competent!

JillianB

Hi again Maureen, you have been a busy girl :) Yes I think that would be my choice too. Will take a photo of the painting I do have of Ria's.

amakrokis2

Wow ! Difficult to choose one. All very good.
I like the yellow poppies ,how well Ria has captured the wind blowing through them.
I think my choice would be the Red poppies with the white daisies.
Thanks Jillian. Hugs ❤️❤️❤️

Lucky you to have such a talented friend who shares her art with you. I meant to say Hydrangea flowers the size of dinner plates but now i have corrected it to make sense. :-) I particularly like the front two paintings.

JillianB

Kayboblee wow that is interesting re your connections with these flowers. So glad they evoked happy memories. Not a show Ria is a friend of mine and this is her photo to show me her latest works to go to gallery. I particularly love the way she paints flowers.

kayboblee

I am not such a fan of that bird, but I love sunflowers--the state flower of Kansas, the US state of my youth, red poppies-- the state flower of Calfornia, a state where I spent 15 years living and met my native Californian husband, and hydrangeas-- we had dinner plate nokia blue hydrangeas in our yard. Many lovely memories with this one post. Wish I could have each of these on my walls--but I will settle for these lovely paintings via your post. Were you at a fair or show to see these displayed this way, Jillian?

JillianB

Dendro do admire your thirst for knowledge (plus good old google) Ria is a fabulous teacher as well. We have a picture she gave to us a number of years ago will endeavour to photograph it and post it. Thanks for comments

dendro

I googled her name(above) as an artist and this general link gives info about her work and photos. She is well known and deservedly so.

Thanks Lunie, I think so too. She came to New Zealand from South Africa a number of years ago and back there she used to paint the big 5 wild animals of Africa.

Dilubreuer

Nice painting of flowers Jill...she paints so beautifully.

JillianB
