Please tell Jack he can have the sandwich if I can have the olive.

boston_jack

..........jack says thanks and he'd love to have a bite of your towering 'dagwood' (don't you believe him, I know for a fact he'll eat the whole thing.....crumbs and all.................)

bananapatchbob

True, Jack -I want to see someone develop a sanctioning body which is neither overly expensive nor sleazy. I still love your dog!

............I agree with your analogies but I'll add.... years back in F1 (the Piquets, Sennas, Scheckters, Hunts, Stewarts, Fittipaldis, Lauda, Villeneuves and on and on) were, I consider, the real F1 pilots........but the cars have changed to a point the rules had to change and somewhere along the way, as a result, so has the racing.......now if you don't have a quazillion dollars....you can't race............case in point (force india).......what a fiasco........Indy road courses are great the ovals makes you yawn and sleep as for drag racing well you know how I feel about that "sport"........today I prefer Sedan class racing........exciting and fun to watch.........in the meantime I'll raise a glass of wine (red) or a good "ole" mug of beer with you (don't care for the bubbly).........gentlemen, start your engines..........!

I call it racing. There are many skills required to drive one of these cars. One must also be aware of track conditions, tire compound, barometric pressure, etc. Drag racing is a purely visceral sport. No finesse required here. If auto racing were alcoholic beverages, F1 would be champagne , Indy would be wine spritzers, and drag racing would be good old beer.

............I've never called this "racing"............rather how long does this engine take to go 1,320 feet, not more not less..........the car's only purpose is to support that engine, nothing else.........
