I used to cycle over this bridge with my father every day on my way to school and back with a friend. I loved the way it swayed. Thanks for publishing these Shrewsbury images.
Ah! The Severn - I see this bridge is dated 1822, amazing. I like the new bridge too, well the one I which took me from England into Wales, in 2000. Of course my Usk flows down into the Severn doesn't it. Many years ago there was a ferry that went down with big loss of life. Many of the travellers were off to a Cattle Fair I think, somewhere near WSM. Most of my family were farmers around St Brides Netherwent, Nash, Penhow, Bishpool Llanvaches etc and among those on the ferry were members of my family.
