Robbos, an absolutely fantabulous thatched cottage. It has taken a minimum of 20 years to get the yard and the fence, greenery, to such glorious abundance. Several of the plants take at least that long to reach the level of maturity that we see in this photograph. As an FYI, professionally installed thatch roofs last 20-40 years and up to 60 years. If moss begins to appear it is an indication, that at least, those sections are in need of repair. Again, a well trusted professional should check the entire roof and verify that no other sections are in trouble. Is a thatched roof worth the cost, heck yes, they last longer than most shingled roofs, have been known to hold up well against storms with 100 mile per hour winds and last but not least, they do make a house look cozy and welcoming. Thank you for creating a puzzle that was a pleasure to solve and then to admire its resolution. Carrie :)
