This is the house that goes with the nice barn from two nights ago--

The historic Middleton Inn B&B, which has received the prestigious Four Diamond AAAA rating, was built in 1840 by Middleton Miller who manufactured and designed the Confederate uniform during the Civil War.

In addition to the barn and stables, the Middleton Inn Bed & Breakfast has several of the original dependencies on the estate: the old summer kitchen, the smoke house, the slaves' quarters and the log cabin. The historic slaves' quarters and cabin have been renovated into romantic accommodations with views of the mountains.

This certainly is in good condition. You know, I wouldn't mind sleeping in the slave quarters. They, after all, were people and maybe they would have stories to tell me in my sleep.

pumpkinhead

Nothing little about this mansion!

warbler

Its that old time style of boxwoods were everything important, Toto, but I certainly agree with you.

Toto

Lovely B&B, it's funny what we like and don't like. I like the metal roof but am not a fan of the landscaping. Too many bushes and not enough flowers for my taste.

warbler

Its amazing to me that those bricks were made and laid in the 1840's roseheather and still there and strong.

The menu is coming up, Mary! :)

marmar4

Charming.
What's for breakfast?

roseheather

Oh, I like it. Brick houses are my very favorite.

warbler

My in-laws have a metal roof and when the wind blows it sounds like a herd of elephants running, Beekay. I could do without it too, but they're nice to look at.

Thanks snooker and Robyn!!

Seems like most think the same about the slave quarters - I don't think I'd be too happy to sleep there either! Otherwise it's a very nice looking Inn Dave! Thanks.

Wouldn't like the slave quarters either. Inn is nice.

Beekay

Very handsome house. I'm not a fan of a metal roof, but other than that, it's a wonderful looking Inn.

warbler

I agree with you, smllpkg. Couldn't do it.

Front and back on both ends, Sandy. Somebody chopped alot of wood.

chickiemama

Wow, and four chimneys!

smllpkg101

Very handsome! Don't think I could sleep in former salve quarters, no matter how nicely they were renovated.
