Aridity does have some advantages. . . . I can deal with it much better than I can deal with suffocating humidity. In fact, that inhuman humidity was the main reason I left NC for CA.
If we kept the hay outside covered it would be green in a week. Even in the barn we have fans on the piles and never get them above five high.

I don't know, PG. I don't keep track of the fires very well until they get pretty close. I was watching the sky to try to figure out if it would rain tonight - - in which case I would need to dash out and cover my hay.
