Vintage poster Avalon Ballroom, San Francisco 1967
Why are you reporting this puzzle?
Victor Moscoso designed this for concerts at The Avalon February 3 and 4, 1967. I think it was made to be viewed under a black light... could be wrong, but that Day-Glo Orange is usually a dead giveaway.
The bands that played were Country Joe and the Fish, Kaleidoscope, and Sparrow. Now, I used to try to give you clips from each band that appeared, but when I had to start listening to jug bands, "something's gotta change", I said to myself. I got no argument, so... something's gotta change. I'm really just sayin' that because I've been busy today and I was never much of a Country Joe fan. I took a stab at Kaleidoscope, but there's a British group with the same name around the same time, and I just don't wanna be bothered. If we can't be honest with each other by now, well, I can continue to lie...
Sparrow, if you paid attention, was pre-Steppenwolf John Kay. There were, and are, several groups named Sparrow or some version of that, but I got ya on the right track here.
Of note, is the poster design - five circles, each surrounded by five small orange stars (except the center which has that squiggle to the left, but then I don't have a conspiracy), and Victor Moscoso's name has five syllables... spooky, huh? I know, it's not, I just don't have anything else...
