This is someone's son, brother, father, uncle, friend, husband. It is so so sad. I have 3 sons. This photo would destroy me if ever I saw any of my sons in a sad lonely situation like this. I just want to get into this photo and put my arms around them and take them both home with me. This image will stay with me for a long time now. Thank you spdean for putting this out. I hope it has or had a happy ending.

I too am a dog lover, but my heart goes out to the GI. I see that the dog is being fed!
