My town's Gingko trees have been here for quite a few years. The town community center used to be my Elementary school. Quite a bit of my school playtime was spent under these trees. Gingko Grins!☺

How wonderful, Iris, that they are still there & you can still walk under them. I just love the colour, & I was pleased to read Heidi's comment - I didn't know they were so ancient. Do you know, if I'm confined anywhere (in a meeting or even at home) I feel at peace if I can look out & see a tree. I would just love to sit up in that room on the right of the tree & look into it - how wonderful would that be?!

The leaves do fall rather close together on these trees Cats. Have a nice evening. Gingko Smiles!☺

Lovely! I read in Southern Living that all the leaves fall at once, so you aren't raking for months. I hope that's true - but anyway, it's gorgeous. Thanks, Irisriver.

Heidi the gingko trees do have an impressive history. I loved studying them in botany class. They are more closely related to pine trees and ferns than they are oaks or maples. Plus they are the last of their line of plants. They sure were late turning color this year tanhse37. They are one of the prettiest fall sights in our town. Gingko Grins!☺

They finally turned fall colors. Great picture. Happy Smiles

One of these days I'm going to get a Gingko. They are so awesome. They're ancient... they've existed since before the age if the dinosaurs: the first deciduous trees.
