Perhaps it's the thrill of the hunt!!!!!!!!!
He was in there tonight too....gave him some canned food and he stuck up his nose at it and the dish of dry right next to it...and yep, headed to the pantry.
Great pictures and great stories too. I love it when a stray finds a loving home!
We had a stray cat I named Bubba, because he appeared one winter's night in our yard, obviously lost, but just as obviously (extremely!) well-fed. It took months of coaxing to get him to let us approach, and he eventually took up a life in our garage (we would bring him into the house, but he'd run out the second he could), staying for a few weeks, then disappearing (even in snowstorms) for another few weeks, always to return. After 3 years of this, he decided that we had passed the test, and he moved in to stay, never to even leave the yard again! We had him for10 more years after that, and he was the most gentle and peaceful and contented cat......
He has just settled into the "house" cat from stray/feral so well. There is a little black one I've been feeding for over 3 years who still skitters away when he hears any sound. Two black and white ones have shown up lately, but they appear well fed. Still they are here most nights. I don't know the markings well enough yet to tell them apart, so maybe it is just one eating here. Oh well.
He wants his food fresh, Sue! LOL.
Hi Jo. Yes, he is soft...but some places are ragged (from his previous life as a skinny stray). He comes when called, will still play with a bell ball even though he is an adult. No idea of his age, I've had him 3 1/2 years and was feeding him for about 6 months before that. He was an adult then.
What a beautiful shiney coat he has!! Looks like velvet!! :)
Of course, wilddog...I hadn't thought it from his point of view, LOL. Good for you gnt.
Your cat is trying to save you time by eating directly out of the bag instead of you having to take the time the scoop the food in the dishes. By eating out of the bag it saves you time from having to wash the dish. That's the excuse our dogs would of given us.
wow made this one too must be something wrong with me LOL
