Fileusa- Yes Patricia, they are very big, I guess we should have given more info on them, so sorry about that! My wife and I are working on this as a team so we'll try and give more info on all of these lovely exotics that we have been posting! Thanks so much for your comment!

Sandy- I have not seen any other flowers to know if this happens but I'll ask Monica if she knows and get back to you! Thanks so much for your comment Sandy, I do enjoy getting them.

Ank- Hello there my friend! The answer is yes, the leaves do prick, as Rob has stated up above! Thank you so very much for your comments Ank, it's been so much fun hearing from you!

Rob- Hi there Rob, good to see you again so soon! You know a lot about Banksias Rob, a lot more than I do I'm afraid to admit! L.O.L. But that's quite alright as we learn from each other, I like that very much! So thank you for all of the info that you painstakingly took the time to tell me and everyone else about who will see yours when they add their own comment! That's a great idea actually, then we would all learn a lot more on jigidi! So glad that you liked this one, once again, I thank you.

There are dozens of varieties of Banksia here Gary - from ground-huggers to very tall varieties. Fires often trigger the seed pods to open. The birds & bees love them as they produce lots of nectar. the leaf edges are sharpish & you wouldn't want to grab a handful of them !!!The flowers are long-lasting & are used frequently in floral displays. This is a very pretty colour - thanks.

puzzeljac

Beautiful and I wonder or the leaves prick. have prickles.

chickiemama

And I wonder if the whole flower gets like the bottom part? Thanks for posting Gary.

fileusa
