Why are you reporting this puzzle?
Fall at Chestnut Place in Portage, NY, an 1800’s mansion. Seemingly beyond repair, it had to have been among the grandest properties in all of WNY. Surrounded by chestnut trees, John Failing Barber (highly successful banker and farmer in the 1800’s) called this place home. According to writings during that time period, Chestnut Place had 15 rooms, 3 fireplaces (one of black marble, two of oak), doors made of curly maple and a winding staircase made of cherry wood. On posted property, the view from the road is very good with trees recently cleared away.
