We had a leak in our kitchen. Hard wood floor, sub floor, walls up to 10ft high have 9 to 10 different colored molds growing. It's all a pain in the ...
Now I'm beginning to wonder I can harvest the mushrooms.
It's a lot worse than this picture.

we have "leaky" condos here ken...and they put in the cladding wrong for this "rainy" place.....so thousands of them have had to be taken down to the studs and re built......it has been going on for about 15 years now.....and it a terrible problem....I am sure glad you found yours before it "rotted you out".....lol....my condo cost me 71.000.00...and I am sure glad I had insurance......LOL ..."whew"

I'm glad you can see the positives in this Ken! Hopefully in 6 weeks, you will be on the other side of it and feeling much better!

This all started with a fridge that had a leak and no one suspected it had any issues. They think it had been leaking more than 6 to 8 months. At least it is confined to the kitchen and laundry room.

The mold tester came yesterday. We'll have a mold report in a week. Then the the tear out and repair
they say it will take 6 weeks.

wow ken......that is bad.........we have an epidemic of "leaky" condos here in vancouver....and it is very dangerous....I hope you can get out 'til it is all cleaned up...good luck to you...robin

I'm so sorry Ken!
I hope you have someplace else to stay while you're getting this fixed. Living and breathing in the mold is really not good for you. My son and fiance just bought a house last March and had some mold treated before they moved in. They'll have to replace the drywall or whatever is under the wall paper. I hope the leak has been fixed.
Anytime our homes are disrupted by stuff like this, it is upsetting.
((hugs)) to you and your wife
Hope you can get it fixed sooner rather than later!

Do you have a couple of dehumidifiers going Ken?

klocowolf

I'm already tired of this mess and I've been told it could take 2 months for repairs to be completed.
