Dear Ank. We are all connected in so many ways. Thank you for sharing that moving story.

Hi Cathy. I once visit in Oosterbeek (that's a village in NL) a war cemetery. I had a boyfriend Norman S. His father was killed during the attempt to liberate NL. It has made much impression on me. I knew my Grandparents were killed in that war too. But much later I discovered that they were killed on the same day during the same fights.

Hi roseheather. Thank you for your wonderful comments. I'm glad we are neighbours and friends!

I am glad to see that others from the US are also mindful that your country, Canada, also observes November 11 in honor of your military. Your military and ours has worked together in many parts of the world. Such moving pictures of this memorial in Vancouver. Thank you.

I think of soldiers from so many countries who died doing their duty. And I think also of the civilians who died in these wars. May God bless them all.

Thank you to all who served to make America a safe and free country...those who are still living and those who have gone on.

daeg

God bless the families of our nation's fallen. May we never forget the price paid by so many for the freedom we enjoy. Can we Americans keep the freedom fought for us?

cevas

... and we remember.
