In June we travelled by rail from Vancouver (British Columbia) to Montreal (Quebec) where we spent five nights. We then took an overnight train to Moncton (New Brunswick). Next we drove to Prince Edward Island, Cape Breton (Nova Scotia), and flew home from Halifax.

It is, Ella...and you can't help but admire what the original settlers did to clear and construct this settlement and actually turn the houses into homes.

I can tell by the great photos, Fort Louisbourg is a great place to explore.

We were up on the ramparts, Ardy, and took the panorama shot from there just to keep the lay-out of the Fort familiar to us. The left-hand corner of the L-shaped stone building is where the King's Bakery is located. Unfortunately, we arrived too late for a fresh loaf. ;)))

Dandelions there too, Faye. Good shot showing the buildings and all. Thanks. ♥♥

I know, Wendy, we on the West Coast are unaware of many treasures on the East Coast...plus, this one is way out in the boon docks! ;DDD

You're very welcome, mother123456. Halifax and Peggy Cove's are the next stop. :)))

It's beautiful! I've been to Halifax and Peggy's Cove. Found it very friendly. Didn't make it to Cape Breton Island. Thanks for sharing the lovely picture.

I am certainly learning about my country. Did not know this fort even existed! - Wendy
