LauraMcGaffey, San Jose!??!! i moved back to texas 4 years ago from mountain view just up the road from you. yep. part of that was leaks, but i so have a sprinkler system, and a tiny vineyard that i irrigate, so it is my own fault. i wish i could trade bills with you, but you wouldn't want to. my utilities range from $450 to $750. choke, gasp, wheeze!!!!!

LauraMcGaffey

Three times the cost of electricity on water? I sure am glad we moved to Arizona from San Jose. Our water bill is around $25.00 while electricity is around $150.00.

Thanks ms laurajane. my how you have changed! this is a cutie, but i loved you penguin in its hat.

laurajane

Nothing like looking at those happy little faces every day!

trish505

Yikes Ms Tex, how well i know, i am threatening to drill a well on my little plot of land, i spend three times the cost of my electricity on watering. what do those weather folks know anyway. last year wasn't so dry...so just keep praying for a wet year.

trish505

hi Ms LauraJane! glad you enjoyed my sunny flowers. they always made me smile.

texasstar7

Oh, no! I love supporting the City of Dallas so much that I run up the water bill all year! We can't have rain barrels because of the mosquito outbreak (West Nile Virus). The sprinkler system for the yard gets most of the plants anyway. Like everything else in Texas, we never half-a** it! Perennial drought.

trish505

hey there, Ms Tex! i heard today from a landscape architect that this is the 5th year of a 10 year drought cycle in Texas! looks like an early spring again. so no peaches this year... sigh. better start your rainwater catchment system yesterday.

texasstar7

Hey, Trish, the temps are high here, too. 73 today and yesterday. I bet we're in for a brutal summer again! Nice flowers. Thanks.

laurajane

How pretty, trish. The yellow looks like sunshine.

trish505

thanks, but this was taken about 10 years ago when i still lived there, chickiemama. i now live in texas now where you can always stick around if you don't like the weather, it will be changing soon. ;) but texas is plenty warm. it was 74 today.

chickiemama

Very pretty and lucky you. You get to live in a warm place. :)
