Awesome picture, thanks for posting it. My husband resently retired from doing aerial surveys out of the Burbank airport, him and his camara man took tons of pictures of a clean/clear Downtown Los Angeles and surrounding mountains, with and without snow, depending on the season. I remember looking at the San Gabriel mountains on a regular basis. I also remember how some roads of the San Bernardino mountains (going up to Big Bear Lake) had to be closed because of too much snow. Your pictures bring back very happy memories of my experience growing up a few miles northeast of Downtown and working 20 years in one of those buildings on Spring Street, near City Hall. Once more, thanks for posting!
LA has a lot of mountains, actually. Those mountains are in the Los Angeles National Forest. Most of the mountain tops can be reached in less than a 2 hour drive from downtown.
