His Hair Flows Like a River ~ TC Cannon (Kiowa-Caddo)
Why are you reporting this puzzle?
Tommy (T.C.) Cannon [Pai-doung-u-day or "One Who Stands In The Sun"] (1946 –1978) was an enrolled member of the Kiowa Tribe with Caddo and French descent. He was exposed to the art of the Kiowa Six, a group of Native American painters from Oklahoma in the early 20th century who achieved international reputations in the fine art world and who helped develop the Southern Plains style of painting. With a strong component of satire and humor, his paintings juxtapose traditional imagery with the contemporary scene, and his Indians are figures who seem to inhabit two worlds, sometimes incongruously but always with pride and verve. Since his untimely death at age 31 in a car crash, his works have continued to inspire and influence other young artists.
