GJDENT 21 January 2020 It reminds me of a cartoon that I used to know on cbeebies called Mr Blooms Nursery. Lia 20 August 2019 Thank you for the info. So, actually, just like in Holland! Wildrover2 20 August 2019 They are in England Lia and we call them Allotments, mostly in the urban areas, they are very highly prized and sort after with huge waiting lists to get one, they too are owned by the local councils and are protected by law so they can't be sold off to developers Lia 20 August 2019 These gardens - on the picture - are in England I suppose. In Holland we call such gardens 'volkstuin' (garden of the people)Mostly owned by the counsil, they are hired out to people. It used to be very popular; then people didn't want them any more (too busy!)But nowadays they are very much asked for, and there even are waiting lists to hire one. This is due to more knowledge about biologic food; healthy food; wanting to be 'nearer' to natue..You hire them for many years and give them back when you can't / don't want to do it any more.
