Morris, you made it sound as if the rock died! Laura, I enjoyed this pic. Most of the lichen around here, at least on Lake Superior, is orange, too, like pinknblack's. Thanks, Laura, for letting us in on your lightfingered deed!

Thank for the reassuarance, chickie and morris!

Jack, I love your avatar. You were a cute little boy.

Happy Easter to you and jim, pumpkin.

jacquescamus

good one Laura!

chickiemama

Don't worry laura. I have stuck many a rock in my backpack. LOL

laurajane

I didn't notice if it was a conservation area. Oops.

Thanks morris and pinknblack!

pinknblack

A beautiful mint ice cream green lichen. Here it is mostly rusty orange coloured. I would have taken it home, too.

morris186

I'm kidding. But if it was marked a conservation area, then you are not supposed to.

laurajane

Ohhh...was I not allowed to take them? I thought I could because it was the woods. Oh no!

morris186

UMMM!!! Did you have a permit for that young lady?

chickiemama

Yay! Don't blame you for taking them.

laurajane

Guess who is the proud owner of this and a few other rocks....taken from the woods, not anybody's landscaping arrangement!

chickiemama

Thank you laura! It's beautiful and a fun puzzle.

Lovely Laura. Old growth forest can be likened to old growth rock.

morris186

YAAAYYYYY!!!! Nice one, laura!
